8th Day

I was happy today to get my oil changed and my tires rotated and not have to wait.

I was happy to go to the library today, I haven't been for 2 years. I had forgotten how many drifters call the library home.

I was happy to purchase an icy mango smoothie, and crack open my next Kay Scarpetta novel, 1 down, 16 to go.

I've had an assful of happy, it's on to my favorite subject starting tomorrow. (8 days of) Things That Annoy Me.

Happy day 7

I'm happy that:

I only work 3 days a week with a day off in between, Caca thinks I'm a spoiled brat with my new work schedule.

My co worker gives me afternoon snacks, today it was chocolate covered peanuts and a grilled chicken wing.

Yesterday I did absolutely nothing except catch up on periodicals and finish my 900 page book "The Historian." (I carefully placed cleaning solvents around the house and the vacuum cleaner out, to trick Tim into thinking I had been working hard all day).

I don't have the Swine Flu.

Happy day 6

I'm in love, sorry Fatness. This cat is amazing, he's the kitten that has a fetish with boxes. This is his latest video, please please watch to the very end where you will see his exquisite fat little head popping up, this made me laugh very very loud.

I believe God put animals on this earth for our sublime happiness, especially cats. Today I told Tim that Fatness has an air of royalty about him, and he said "a royal pain in the ass."

Where would we be in this often cruel life without our dear animals? Yesterday morning Tim and I sat outside drinking our coffee on the patio. There was a cool morning breeze and the sweet smell of roses wafting around us. We watched 2 beautiful soft grey doves hopping around on the lawn looking for bugs and a small bird up in my orchid tree chirping the most interesting song. A dragonfly buzzed over my head on his way to my orange tree, and sweet Fatness was at my kitchen window meowing at me to let him out. There are moments in life that render complete happiness, if we will just slow down and listen.

If you're happy and you know it clap your hands...

They are moved in!

Chris, Caca and I spent the morning putting down shelf paper, organizing kitchen cupboards and polishing cupboards with orange oil, which Chris maintained "I was obsessed with." I would have taken more pictures of the 2 of them bustling about, but I got yelled at for taking one picture.

There were no two better helpers yesterday than Sween and Pegs. I wasn't quite sure who was chasing who, but I did hear many squeals of laughter. Sween fashioned herself a cardboard home with quilt and pillow.

Timothy was a big helper too, he fixed a broken drawer and lifted a lot of heavy shit.

I am so happy for Erica and Zach. They have a beautiful home and many happy memories to come. I'm proud of them and love them very much.

Day 4 of happyness.

These Swiffer commercials kill me and make me smile. This is my favorite, the old broom is trying to woo her back from her new fancy Swiffer. The broom left her a path of rose petals to a romantic hot tub. Watch to the very end, where you will see a very sad broom holding his towel. LOL. LOL.

Here is my 2nd favorite. Mr Mop has a bouquet of flowers delivered.

I spent the better part of my morning watching all of the Swiffer commercials plus a few very funny homemade ones, laughing my ass off.

I also cleaned my laundry room and litter box! My worst chore ever. I was very happy to have accomplished this. Behold.

Day 3 of happy

I have the next 2 days of work off. I'm off Friday to help Caca move into her new house! Chris and the Sween will join us, Sween will be immensely helpful I'm sure. I look forward to seeing what decorating magic Caca will cast upon her new house. Chris and I made one request, we want the future baby's room to be done entirely in Hello Kitty.

I was happy to read VH1 is bringing back "Divas Live," it's been gone for 4 years! It's a wonderful display of bitches trying to out sing each other and claim the biggest hair. Aretha singin' all over Mariah was something to behold.

Day 2 of felicidad

Today I watched my grandson Dustin. He is 2 1/2. I got to watch "Toy Story 2" twice and "Iceage" once. We consumed Cheetos, raisins and Capri Suns. We did a lot of him putting clown heads on my fingers and me giving them names like "Silly Jelly Head," which made him giggle.

003

This is what I see every night. Tim sitting in his usual corner pocket of the sofa, and Fatness standing before him. Let me explain, Fatness waits, staring at Tim until he gives him the "ok" to sit in his lap. The "ok" is Tim tapping his chest and saying "kitty come." One evening Fatness waited 2 hours until Tim allowed him over via the tapping. This little song and dance between the two of them makes me very happy.

Ode To Joy

My sister says I'm supposed to post something that makes me happy for 8 days straight, and I must post at least one thing each day.

I'm happy that we hit 98 degrees today and not 100.

I'm happy that Fatness' fur is cut short because right now he is laying all the way across my shoulder with his head in front of my face while I try to type.

I'm happy that I have 6 shiny new periodicals laid out in front of me, waiting for my perusal.

I'm happy to have friends like Alli and her sister Kris who meticulously plan fun weekend getaways for Chris and I. They are currently planning our trip to Forks and La Push Beach. They even name our vacations: "Escape The Heat - Twilight Tour."

4.14.2009

Fierce Lion

Fatness was a big boy today, he received his summer Lion Cut.

Fatness allowed me to film him briefly, he requested Aretha Franklin's "Think," he said he "moves better with a little soul playin."

4.12.2009

Easter

Is there anything better than an egg hunt? Maybe an egg hunt where the eggs are filled with cash and coin. Caca hid the prize winning $5 egg and Alex found it (how else do you get a 13 year old to go Easter egg hunting?)
005009

After Tim cut a monstrous ham, and we devoured Chris's butter loaded funeral potatoes, Caca's amazing artichoke dip and my underwhelming bean casserole...
003002

We began our much anticipated game of "Catch Phrase" which is an awesome challenge of quick thinking and creativity, which is why the girls beat the boys 6 -0.
012

Here is a few examples of their follies: Zach received "Christina Aguilera" and gave an excellent clue of "GENIE IN A BOTTLE!!!" He was met with blank stares from Mike and Tim and then subsequent guesses of Barbara Eden. Notice look on Erica's face.
014

Tim received "Face The Nation" and promptly started yelling "GAME SHOW, IT'S A GAME SHOW!!!" (Face the Nation is/was a Sunday morning news show). I have no picture of Tim embarrassing himself so here is the Sween.
010

The game went downhill fast, we even let them chose the categories of sports, places, electronics, it really didn't matter. They were defeated badly.

Happy Easter everyone.
001

Enjoy my Peace Roses, they were photographed this morn.

Momisms etc.

In honor of it being Malia's favorite thing, the latest Mom-isms.

(The following are usually shouted at the television.)

"I'm sick of naked girls on every station!"

"Meredith, stop talking and get on with the show!" (Millionaire)

"Regis is a panty-waist, he makes me sick."

In honor of Fatness, his most recent photo session.

Etc.

I'm beginning to form an unhealthy infatuation with Gilles (pronounced Eeeels) Marini from Dancing With The Stars. Tune in tonight to see this majestic creature. You might remember him from the "Sex In The City" movie, in fact, you got to see a LOT of him in that movie.
